getting dressed
copying chanel and waiting for spring
So I got dressed this week as well. The seasons in Sweden won’t shift, supposedly we’re in May but it’s too cold to wear any of my spring looks. But I’ve been longing to pair suit trousers with my thrifted red v-neck and since spring is not springning I’ve been wearing that look a lot. I feel very Phoebe Philo coded when I wear black + red usually I wouldn’t mix a strong colour with black cause it reminds me of soccer shirts and colours of various soccer teams (AC Milan wears black and red I don’t know why I know that) but ever since Phoebe started to use that colour combo on her website I felt like it belongs to me and not to AC Milan anymore.
I had a birthday dinner to attend later that week and got a little carried away with the spring having sprung. The thing is that I’m kind of obsessed with lingerie looking skirts paired with an oversized tee (my pinterest is overflowing with that look right now) I literally wanna look like a just rolled out of bed. Just looks so chic wearing your nighty and your boyfirends t-shirt. It’s sooo basic I know but I find it really really nice. So I was gonna wear that to the dinner but ended up feeling way too “summery” cause yeah again the weather wasn’t allowing that look quite yet. So it went from trying to up-dress the lingerie with knit and coat but that didn’t really feel right or maybe it looked ok but it just wasn’t the moodboard, you know when you’ve imagined something and it’s not exactly how it looks in your head it’s just not gonna fly. But my outfit evolution, pictured in detail below, got me wearing my new Magda Butrym jacket which is the ultimate og dad/grandpa jacket with shoulder pads.

So getting dressed for that occasion was really an evolution. Not what originally had in mind but it turned out okey either way.
If anyone should wonder I have now fully embraced the wedge-90’s-look the last drop was me purchasing the Phoebe Philo wedge thongs. Don’t know how wise of an investment it was considering it might be a trend that is over before this season ends but I have no regrets and stay optimistic for their longevity.
Regarding everyday looks I think one is always on the prowl for the perfect formula making it effortless and easy to get dressed in the morning. A big part of my formula are Levi’s 501 denim and the other day the Chanel Métiers d'art show set in the New York subway. Believe it or not, a lot of good everyday inspo in that collection (since Métiers d’art usually is about the craftsmanship and not suitable for your day to day needs). Either way I made an effort trying to copy the opening look using this men’s knit by Soft Goat, 501 denim and old Chanel heels.
